Meet the Team
The Village Shop Management Committe is made up of local residents who volunteered to be on the steering committee in response to the initial 'Shop' questionaire in 2007. The commitee have given their valuable time to the project, and have donated considerably to maintain the flow of information and updates to residents of Hughenden Valley. The Committee currently consists of the following individuals.
Tony Horton: Chairman
Tony is a retired MD with many years experience in different UK industries and sectors. Tony has been resident in the village for 21 years.
Louise Jones: Vice-Chair and Project Co-ordinator
Louise is a PA with a major local employer and was the instigator and driving force behind the shop project. Louise has always lived in the local area and as a child attended the popular playgroup held in the Village Hall.
Peter Cannon FCA: Finance
Peter is a Director of Cannon Moorcroft Ltd: Chartered Accountants based in High Wycombe. He has 36 years of experience in business start-ups and small owner manager enterprises. Peter has lived in Bucks for 27 years, the recent 22 years in Hughenden Valley.
Dylan Jones: Technology
Dylan is the IT Director for John Laing Plc and is involved in developing the website and advising on the technical aspects of the shop and EPOS systems. Dylan has lived locally since 1993, is married to Louise (our vice chair) and they are bringing up their young family in the village.
Peter Elliot MBE: Premises
Peter completed a full flying career in the Royal Air Force and with other NATO forces. He has associated experience in planning, management, equipment procurement and its testing and evaluation. After retirement he worked as a consultant in the defence industry and also as a part- time flying instructor. Peter has lived in Hughenden Valley for 21 years.
Sue Grace: Staffing and Fundraising
Sue has lived in the village for many years with her husband and teenage family and her parents also live in the village. She is a manager within a local Hospice Charity and has been extensivley involved in working with volunteers and understands their valuable input. During her work within the charitable sector she has become very experienced in fundraising ventures. Sue is looking forward to being involved in the recruitment of staff for the shop and to see it go from strength to strength.
Andy Cox: Retail Operations
Andy is an experienced retail manager and is currently working at a senior level for a public company in the retail industry.
Deirdre Richards: Secretary
Deidre is an experienced financial administrator at Buck University and provides the accurate and detailed record keeping that is vital in this project. Deidre has lived in the village for 17 years.
