Shop Manager Resigns (Oct 09)

First Annual AGM Held (Jun 09)

Opening Day (May 09)

Shop Staff Required (Jan 09)

The search for a Shop Manager and Volunteer Shop Assistants to operate the shop has begun.  If you are interested in applying for a role at the shop please read the job desriptions on the recruitment page and contact us to let us know you are interested.

Village Day Support for the 'Village Shop' (July 08)

The Village Shop team had a very successful day with their information tent at the Hughenday Valley Village Day.  Many villagers offered their continued support to the project and over £250 was raised on the day. To read more click here.

Planning Permission Submitted to Wycombe District Council (May 08)

In agreement with the Village Hall Committee planning permission has been submitted for the Portakabin to be sited on the Village Hall car park.   Click here to view the application on the WDC website.

Update and Summary of Public Meeting (Feb 08)

An update and summary of the Public Meeting held at the Village Hall was sent to all households in Hughenden Valley.  Read the update and summary by clicking here.

Public Meeting held in Village Hall (Jan 08)

A public meeting was held at the Village Hall to update and inform residents of the current situation and to answer any questions.  Over 80 residents attended and speakers from other Bucks Community Shops and the Village Retail Sevices Association were present and spoke about the viability of the shop and how such ventures succeed.  You can see the presentation by the Village Shop Committee by clicking here.

Householders Questionnaire (April 07)

A Householder Questionnaire is delivered to all households in Hughenden Valley with the residents associations newsletter. 

The questionnaire asked villagers if they would use a shop and what would they like to see in the shop.  The response from the questionnaire was outstanding as was the encouragement for the committee to be formed to investigate the possiblitiy of a shop more closely.
