Support Us

Without the support of local residents we would not have realised the establishment of a new shop in Hughenden Valley.

The financial support offered by residents ranged from share purchase to donations and loans. The initial funding from the community made us eligible to approach charitable trusts and organisations which exist to support these types of schemes via loans and grants. This enabled us to reach our target figure of £60,000 to get the shop up and running.

It is still possible to show your support by the purchase of shares. Each local resident is entitled to purchase a £10 share (which will give you a vote at the Hughenden Valley Community Shop AGM).  A small donation to the project is also still acceptable.

If you are unable to support us financially then please consider supporting us by volunteering to assist in the shop or even offer professional trade services, administration or delivery work.  You would be surprised what support services we do actually need!

Remember that your continuing support over the next few years will be crucial in the success of this project.  Using the shop for some of your shopping on a regular basis will demonstrate your enthusiasm for all the hard work that it has taken to get us this far. Please encourage your friends and neighbours to visit the shop.
