| The Village Retail Services AssociationViRSA is now an activity of the Plunkett Foundation, a charity which aims to improve rural livelihoods through co-operation and social enterprise. ViRSA was founded in 1992 in Dorset following the successful start up of a community owned shop in the village of Halstock. There are now 170 Community owned shops in the UK. |
| Hughenden Valley Village HallThe Village Hall is the preferred location for the siting of the Village Shop and the Village Hall Committee are working with us to provide this Community facility. |
| Hughenden Valley Residents AssociationThe Valley Residents Association has been very supportive of the Valley Shop project. Members of the Committee and Village road reps have helped deliver newsletters and questionnaires and have ensured the project is publicised in the village magazine and news columns in local papers. |
The Lee Village Shop, Buckinghamshire (Nr Gt Missenden)The Lee Village Shop is a successful community run shop run from a porta cabin in the village. The staff and management of the Lee Village Shop have been very helpful and supportive of our project, offering advice and guidance throughout. | |
Hyde Heath Village Shop, Buckinghamshire (Nr Amersham)The Hyde Heath Village shop is a typical example of what can be achieved when the Village Hall and Shop combine to offer a service to the community. The community run shop started life in a porta cabin next to the Village Hall and now occupies a purpose built extension to the Village Hall. |
